2020 Annual Members Juried Exhibition
The Guild of Boston Artists will host its Annual Members Juried Exhibition from November 7 - December 12, 2020. This exhibition is an invitation to the Guild's membership to submit their best work in order to compete for prestigious awards and cash prizes. The show will hang in the President's Gallery of the Guild's Newbury Street location and can be viewed free of charge during regular business hours.
This year's show will include paintings, mainly oils, in a variety of subject matter: still life, landscape, interiors, portraits and figures. The winners of last year's major awards - Kelly Carmody, Harley Bartlett, Stapleton Kearns, Jean Lightman, and Joshua O'Donnell- will serve as jurors to select this year's award winners.

The work in this exhibition encourages contemplation of the interplay between movement and stillness. Directed by the artist's hand, the viewer's eye traces lines and arabesques or settles gently on a passage or detail - the spirit soars and beauty hangs in the balance. Movement and stillness are key to fine art and play an important role in each of our lives as one gives way to the other. In this alternation between energizing movement and calming stillness, we find both rapture and relief.
